Have you ever seen wild monkeys? This is a nice place to do so! Head to this area and find a water taxi, the prices varies depending on how big of a tourist you look like. Bargaining is the key here and there is lots of taxis to choose from. Ask for a combo, river cruise to look at some monkeys, water village, the Sultan’s house and then a waterfront drive-by.
To read more about the Sultan’s house and the river cruise click HERE.
The Sultan’s house is big. Actually the biggest. It’s the biggest habitation of any sort in the world. It measures only 200,000 square meters, 257 bathrooms, 1788 rooms and to compare it to something.. It’s three times as big as Buckingham Palace.
This huge house is only open for visitation three days of the year which is the three last days of Ramadan. I do not recommend traveling in Malaysia or Brunei during Ramadan, but it is nessasary if you want to see the house up close.
The roof’s jewels is covered in gold and very attractive from a distance.
The garage is bigger than Buckingham Palace and not a part of the measurement of 200,000 square meters. Yes, it’s full of cars.
The monkeys you may see during the river cruise is Longtailed Macaques and Proboscis Monkeys. You will have to look for the monkeys, and use your ears cause monkeys are loud.
