I can’t really say I traveled the Philippines. Cause I didn’t! I was in Clark and I was in Boracay for ages without even leaving the island. I was one night in Manila but I didn’t really go outside of the hostel.

First of all, in Manila there is a lot of crime, secondly i had a couple of bad things happening up there, go to stories to read about one og them.

However, I did, as I wrote, spend a lot of time on Boracay. So I’ll write about that! Boracay is an amazing island. The people are very friendly and the tourists are kept on one beach, which makes the other places around the island more natural and nice.

Boracay got it all. Isolated beaches, clubs, nice restaurants, five star resorts, hostels, shopping and let’s not forget the second best beach in the world. This beach was probably the best beach in the world before American pizza chains and Starbucks popped up. However, the beach is still more or less perfect. It got sand like flour, and water so nice it’s scary. The water and sand is clean, which is rare on beaches with this many visitors all year round.

They have organized a lot of activities like bananaboat, kite surfing, diving, skimboarding, surfing, snorkeling, flying fish, underwater walks, parasailing, atv, go carts.. The list goes on! You will not be bored on the beach. I’m one of those guys that can’t just lay flat out on a beach for hours, I need to do stuff, and that is cheap and very easy on Boracay! However, if you like to just be on the beach you can find some very nice quite beaches all around the island, so it will work out for everyone!

There’s a lot of different kinds of restaurants. Some with live music others with flame-juggling dancers.. Kinds of food varies from each place. Mexican, Indian, Korean, Danish, American, you name it, they got it! The prices are cheap, although it’s expensive to be in the Philippines.

Shopping is limited, however they do sell more or less everything you need on a holiday like that. Souvenirs, swimsuits and such :)

Henna tattoos and massages are given out more or less for free along the beach.. So take advantage of it :)
