Hostels in Hong Kong are small, cramped and in the same building. It sucks because the building is a disaster. Outside of the building is a lot of drug dealers, other salesmen, pickpockets, prostitutes and simply people you don’t want to hang out with. If your a girl, stay away from this place. I did not feel that my things were safe in the room, I did not feel safe right out side the building and did NOT feel safe in the building. Why I didn’t feel safe in the building is because of fire. The electrical system was a mess all over and only one week before I arrived there was a fire. It is two elevators. Both of them got big ques, always about ten people in the ques.
The hostel it self was clean and they had a social area, but I wouldn’t stick my hand into a bee nest to get the honey, at least not without protection.
The reception didn’t know anything. Not a simple thing as how to get to the airport. They did not have maps of hong kong or the subway.
This hostel sucked.
If you can find a hostel in an other building, go for it. This building is called Chung King Mansion.
Rating: 40% (because it was clean)
